This collection consists of business and personal correspondence, invoices, receipts, accounting books, newspapers and newspaper clippings, books and pamphlets, copies of civil court documents, a diary. a scrapbook, loose and framed photographs, and photograph albums. Most items concern the Barataria and Lafourche Canal (Westwego, La.), Myrtle Grove Sugar Plantation (Terrebonne Parish, La.), and the Airless Tube Filler Company (New Orleans, La.). The personal correspondence consists of letters exchanged among the members of the Barrow family and their family and friends. The dairy was kept by Irene Barrow and covers the period January 1 through July 29, 1898. The scrapbook kept by Hallette Barrow Cole records the birth, marriage, and death dates of the Barrow, Tennant, and Cole families, along with other events occurring between 1822 and 1966. It also includes clippings and obituaries of Louisiana persons, particularly physicians. The photograph collection includes family photographs, pictures of Roberta Grove Plantation house, the Barrow camp on Independent Island in Barataria Bay, the Barataria and Lafourche Canal, and unidentified photographs.
