Scope and Contents

Includes letters from friends and family, invitations, holiday cards (Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter), drawings, newspaper clippings, and ephemera (tickets, flyers, pamphlets, pressed flowers, napkins, etc.) relating to Ameen's life in Raceland, Louisiana and travels throughout the South (Texas, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida). Subjects include events such as high school graduations (Raceland and Lockport), dances, movies and movie stars, parties, club meetings, trips, and the onset of World War II. Of note is Ameen's salutatorian address from Raceland High School which addressed the history of the school.
