Scope and Contents
This collection dates from 1959 to 2000 and spans 21 linear feet, comprising materials relating to the activities of the Bayou Lafourche Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.). The collection is divided into eight series: Yearbooks, Pressbooks, Yearbooks, Meeting Minutes, Papers, Photographs, Printed Materials, and Coushatta American Indian Crafts. Scrapbooks date from 1960 to 1994 and include clippings, correspondence, notes, photographs, artwork, and memorabilia documenting the chapter's activities. Pressbooks date from 1959 to 1995 and document media coverage of the chapter's activities. Yearbooks for the Bayou Lafourche chapter date from 1960 to 2000 and include membership lists and a summary of activities. The fourth series comprises meeting minutes dating from 1960 to 1992. Papers include reports, publicity materials, clippings, research, notes, photographs, and other materials relating the the chapter's activities, predominantly relating to Constitution Week. Photographs relate predominantly to Constitution Week and those with dates span 1990-1993. Printed materials from the state and national societies include programs, handbooks, a roster, a magazine, and a DAR library catalog dating from 1980 to 1996.
