This collection spans 79.5 linear feet and dates from 1898 to 1965. The collection comprises ledgers, books, and receipts pertaining chiefly to Terre Haute Plantation in Saint John the Baptist Parish, La. Ledger contents include time books, accounts payable and receivable, cash reports, cane weight books, sales books, day books, trial balances, sugar sales, payroll, teamsters' books, order and shipment books, cutters' books, grinding ledgers, and inventories.

Biographical / Historical
Terre Haute Plantation was located in Saint John the Baptist Parish, La. It was purchased by Leon Graugnard (1855-1938) in 1904 and remained in his family until 1972. Graugnard immigrated to the United States in the 19th century from Basses-Alpes, France and married Eva Bacas.
