Biographical Note
Eugene Godfrey (E. G.) Robichaux was born on November 2, 1856 to Eugene Robichaux, the Sheriff of Lafourche Parish. In 1889, Robichaux and Edward Douglass White formed the Lafourche Sugar Refining Company, Ltd. Their refining process utilized open steam evaporators and clarifiers rather than open kettles, which allowed them to increase sugar production. He was married to Louise De la Poly until 1891 (her death), and later married Brigitte Thibodaux. He died in 1930 at the age of 74.
