Historical Note
The Junior Woman's Club of Thibodaux was formed in 1938 under the sponsorship of the Woman's Club of Thibodaux. The club participated in local service projects and charitable work, including the sponsorship of scholarships for local women and girls, Red Cross sewing, programs for children and the elderly, National Library Week and Arbor Day observances, community beautification, and donations to local hospitals, youth groups, and cultural heritage organizations. In 1966, the organization changed its name to the Bayou Woman's Club of Thibodaux, and in 1975, they sponsored the organization of the Bayou Junior Woman's Club of Thibodaux.
The Bayou Woman's Club was dissolved in 1993 due to declining membership.
