Mardi Gras Collection
Scope and Contents
This collection dates from 1881 to 2016, with the bulk of the materials dating from the 1960s to the 1980s. It comprises ephemera, notes, printed materials, and artifacts relating to the celebration of Mardi Gras, predominantly in Southeast Louisiana. These materials include programs for balls and parades, event invitations, promotional materials, notes, krewe histories, doubloons, regalia, and other artifacts.

The contents of this collection are arranged into series by location of origin and into sub-series by any krewe with which they are associated. Within series, krewes are arranged alphabetically by the name by which they are commonly known.
