Through the years there were several member changes until 1992 when the final make up of the band became permanent. The band members are: Donald Besson on clarinet and alto sax, Calvin Bourgeois on piano, Mel Boudoin on trombone and vocals, John Staffor on trumpet, Septime Rodrigue Jr. on guitar, Raul Prado on tenor sax, Joe Billy King on bass, and Ted Hoffman on drum.
The group got its start by playing before parades during Mardi Gras. They also played before the Fireman's Parade and have played at many of Louisiana's historical sites including Nottoway Plantation, Oak Alley, and Madewood Plantation. They have been a part of The Bayou Community Band and performed at local hotspots like Downtown Houma. In order to preserve the local jazz heritage, the band recorded two CDs. The most successful CD recording sold over 800 copies and successfully preserved America's only original and unique music.
