Content Description
This collection covers 1.3 linear feet and spans 1950-1970. The Gaudet photograph album contains photographs of homes and businesse in and around Thibodaux taken by Elbert Gaudet, Sr. in the 1950s,1960s, and 1970s. Many of the structures in the photographs are no longer standing. A description of each photograph was written on the back of the photograph by Gaudet. There are a total of 153 photographs, 2 newspaper clippings, and 3 dance tokens/tickets. The dance tokens are from the American Legion/Park Pavilion and 4-Ray's Dance Pavilion.

Biographical / Historical
Elbert L. Gaudet, Sr., was born January 20, 1921 to Lovincy Louis Gaudet (L.L. Gaudet) and Velma Toups Gaudet. His grandfather, Edward Toups, started Acadia Dairy in Thibodaux. Gaudet grew up on Narrow Street in Thibodaux and married Majorie Clement, a native of the St. John and Labadieville communities. He became a service manager at Autohome Buick Co. in the late 1940s and retired from there in 1984. Elbert Gaudet Sr. passed away July 3, 1998.
