Louis Saillard Photograph Collection
Scope and Contents
This collection is divided into three folders. It contains black and white photographs of sugar plantations and mills in Louisiana and an issue of Rail Classics (1974). The photographs were taken by Saillard and C.W. Whitbeck.

Biographical Note
Louis Saillard IV was born in 1949 in Hammond, La. He settled in Baton Rouge, La. and became a well known rail photographer, author and historian. In 1981, he published "Delta Route: A History of the Columbus & Greenville Railway" which chronicles the story of the C&G from its pre Civil War roots to its rebirth and revitalization.
