Scope and Contents At a chicago 5th Mar Div. reunion, June 1975, Roland Chaisson purchased this color photo of the Iwo Jima flag raising, photographed by William Genaust, a Marine Photographer and Bronze Star recipient with the 4th Div. On Saipan, Genaust used his motiton picture camera that had only two feet of color film remaining. Anytime one sees the Iwo Jima flag raising in color and moving, this is the filming done by William Genaust. Joe Rosenthal won the Pulitzer Prize for his still blackand white...
