Scope and Contents

Tape 1: Mr. DeFelice discusses education in Lafourche Parish while he was teacher-principal and later superintendent. Tape 2: On side one, Mr. DeFelice discusses the coming of electricity, refrigeration and radio to lower Bayou Lafourche. Also, he speaks of the hard surfacing of the road to Grand Isle. Side 2 concerns Mr. DeFelice's service in World War II in England, France and Germany. Tape 3: On side one, Mr. DeFelice discusses dancing and dating customs in the first half of the twentieth century along Bayou Lafourche. He also discusses fishing and hunting in this time period in lower Lafourche Parish. Side two concerns the coming of the oil industry to lower Lafourche Parish. (4 tapes, 177 minutes)
