Scope and Contents This collection contains the business records of Laurel Valley and Melodia Plantations and owner J. Wilson Lepine. These records include correspondence, letter books, account books, payroll records, plantation diaries, invoices, and sugar mill records. Of particular interest are the thirteen plantation diaries which span the years 1903-1915 which give a day by day account of life and labor on a Louisiana sugar plantation in the early twentieth century.
