Microfilmed copy of the diaries of Taylor Beatty (Beattie), Sr. of Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. The diaries document his activities during the Civil War and his later years as a sugar planter and a lawyer who attended court in Houma, Napoleanville, Thibodaux, and New Orleans, Louisiana. Reel 1 contains Volume 3, dating from 1861 to 1865. Reel 2 contains Volumes 4 through 12, dating from 1883 to 1917.
