Historic Assumption Parish Collection

Scope and Contents This collection contains photographs of towns and people in Assumption Parish during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, programs, booklets, correspondence, surveys and newspaper clippings. It includes a masters thesis by Linda French Mariz (1973), a diary kept by Eliza Lofton Pugh from 1863-1864, a biography of Samuel Anatole Alleman who served as Assumption Parish Superintendent of Schools 1905-1947, and "History of the Town of Napoleonville" by Sam F. Gilbert.
